Printed sermons?

Assess

If your pastor prepares written sermons, it may be beneficial to provide them for members who may process the written word better due to learning differences or who have many audio processing disorders.

If the pastor doesn’t provide written sermons and your church captures worship services by video, check with your media specialist to see if a transcript is created for closed captioning.

Providing attendees with a written “transcript” will provide people with various disabilities an alternative means of access similar to how closed captioning works for television.

Modify

If you are able to attain a written transcript through the Pastor, it is important to make it available for individuals in the congregation who could better process the message via the written word.

If transcripts of the message are created after the service, for television captioning, it still may be a great way for those members to absorb what they had missed in a facility setting. A transcript will be very familiar on how to export a version of the transcript for basic word processors like Microsoft Word.
